Dog Care Resources for Thoughtful Pet Parents

Our Story

PetsRule began the same way many meaningful journeys do: with dogs we love and questions we didn’t yet have answers to.

We’re dog parents to Boog and Elsie, and living with them taught us quickly that loving a dog doesn’t automatically mean knowing how to meet all of their needs. Like many pet parents, we found ourselves overwhelmed by conflicting advice, loud opinions, and one-size-fits-all approaches that didn’t always feel right for our dogs or our home.

Why We Wrote the Book

We needed guidance that was calm, practical, and grounded in understanding — not hype. So we started learning, researching, and paying closer attention to what our dogs were actually telling us.

PetsRule is a dog care guidance brand and resource hub created from that experience. We share thoughtful, real-world insights designed to help pet parents make confident, compassionate decisions and build healthier, happier relationships with their dogs.

Our dogs are at the heart of everything we do. Living with Boog and Elsie taught us that:

  • behavior is communication, not defiance
  • calm comes from clarity, consistency, and trust
  • good dog care is about progress, not perfection

Those lessons shaped our philosophy and ultimately led us to create The Ultimate Dog Book: How to Be a Pawfect Parent. We originally wrote the book for ourselves — as a way to organize what we were learning and to create a clear, supportive guide we wished had existed when we first became dog parents.

Today, we share that guide and our broader resources with others who want dog care that feels empowering instead of confusing. Our approach focuses on emotional well-being, thoughtful routines, clear communication, and practical daily care that supports both dogs and the people who love them.

PetsRule exists for pet parents who treat their dogs like family and want guidance that is kind, grounded, and realistic. We believe that when dogs feel understood, life becomes calmer, more joyful, and more connected for everyone involved.

Everything we create is rooted in lived experience and a simple truth:

We’re dog parents too — and we’re still learning every day.
